Sleeping in a beautiful tree house constructed from wood and bamboo sounds like something out of a fairytale, but at Treetop Country, this is really what you’ll experience! We have built several furnished rooms among the upper levels of trees that will leave you feeling like you’re in nature’s paradise. You’ll wake up every morning to the soft sounds of the outdoors and the stunning view from atop the village.
Aside from the lovely treetop houses, we also have private/semi-private Western-style toilets, hot showers, a bar and lounge for volunteers and backpackers to socialize in, free Wi-Fi, tours of temples, waterfalls and surrounding areas, and meals from Thai chefs trained by the world-renowned chef Sasi Meechai. You won’t believe your eyes when you see your new home in the village!
ORIENTATION
Arriving alone in a new country, with a new language and culture, can be daunting at first for a new volunteer. Luckily for you, we’re here to help make your transition a smooth one. Our support and assistance begins with your pick-up from the airport (for volunteers only), where you’ll meet one of our staff members and be given a ride into the village.
Your first 48 hours at Treetop Country will include a tour of the project grounds and the surrounding village, an introduction to other volunteers, backpackers and staff members, and a lesson on basic Thai language and customs. Our local staff will teach you how to get around safely and easily, where the best spots for food, drinks and exploration are, and will serve to provide you with help and assistance 24 hours a day throughout your stay.
SAFETY
The safety and security of our guests, as well as their possessions, are of the utmost importance to us at Treetop Country. Although Wiang Pa Pao is known to be one of the safest and most friendly areas in all of Thailand, and we have never had any prior issues, we have still taken extra measures to ensure your safety. Our staff watch over the community and the project grounds, we also have a storage locker where valuables such as your passport, cash, credit cards, jewelry, etc. can be locked away safely. You’ll quickly realize how secure and wonderful the village is, but in case you have any doubts, just know that the safety of our visitors is of the greatest importance to us and we go above and beyond to make sure that you are well taken care of.
