I have originally planned to volunteer at Treetop Country for a month, but ended up extending my stay to almost two months! The students are eager to learn and take every opportunity to practice English with the volunteers after class. During my stay, there are usually 4~6 volunteers so I never felt lonely but at the same time take advantage of a close knit group.

For me, getting to know the volunteers from different parts of the world and learning about their cultures add on to the volunteer experience. On weekends, Treetop offers day trips around Wiang Pa Pao, ChiangRai, and ChiangMai. There are local markets, cafe, and swimming pool within bike-able distance. You can never run out of things to do at Treetop. On top of that, my favorite part about Treetop is the connection you can make with the locals. The families at Treetop really treat you as part of their family, if you ever needed help, anyone in the village will be more than willing to give you a hand.
